Abstract: The Galapagos islands are located far away from mainland Ecuador. Due to the islands' unique geographic environment and marine climatic conditions, an imbalance occurs in their water resources, which impacts the development of local economy and society; as a result, water resources need to be properly planned to meet the demand in the long run. Based on the full investigation of the water resources and development situation in the four inhabited islands, the water resources supply and demand situation is analyzed in depth and further the allocation thought of water resources is sorted out as well as the water resources allocation pattern constructed and finally the measures of water resources development and utilization were put forward.
