Abstract: In order to review and analyze the rationality of early warning index value of mountain flood disaster in 40 villages along rivers in Huaping County, 3 typical villages were selected according to the recent and historical large flood data, and the relationship between water level and flow, calculation of designed rainstorm flood and early warning index test were reviewed and analyzed. The analysis shows that:(1) The flood peak flow values inferred by the flood mark survey are reasonable and reliable;(2) The calculated parameters of design storm and flood should be reasonable determined according to combination of the measured data and actual map;(3) The calculation of deviation degree of early warning indicators can correct the threshold interval of early warning indicators in the basin, and improve the accuracy and practicality of early warning indicators. In a word, by establishing early warning indices for villages along rivers, timely early warning and evacuation can effectively reduce the casualties and property losses when mountain flood disaster occurs.
