Abstract:

In the light of water pollution and ecological destruction of the great Donghu Lake due to the environmental resources over-exploitation, the connotation and the mechanism framework of ecological compensation are discussed to efficiently realize the goals of water purification, ecological functions restoration and resources sustainable development of the lake, based on the analysis of its basic characteristics, status quo and environment and the necessity of building the ecological compensation mechanism for the lake. And the issues such as the value of natural ecological resources, the mode of ecological compensation, construction and operation of the special fund, and the implementation and management of ecological compensation for the great Donghu Lake are analyzed to provide theoretical basis of maintaining natural ecological health of the great Donghu Lake, which would be extended to other urban lakes.
