Abstract:

The resettlement of Three Gorges Project is unprecedented in the history of hydropower project construction for its large population and submerged asset quantity. The main effect and accomplishment of resettlement of Three Gorges Project are summarized. Since the commencement of resettlement work in 1993, the management is generally normative, the usage of resettlement fund is safe and effective, the quality of relocation and resettlement is fine, the living and production conditions of relocates are improved obviously and the society in the reservoir area is stable. The resettlement planning work is important to the success of resettlement of Three Gorges Project and to the full play of its comprehensive benefits.
