Abstract:

The dry-wet of annual runoff is related to the amount of annual runoff and its distribution within a year. The traditional dry-wet classification methods only consider the amount of annual runoff but ignore the distribution. On the basis of the monthly runoff data at Cuntan Hydrological station for 55 years, the set pair analysis method (SPA) is adopted to construct the set pair by the classification set and standard set; the relationship of the set pair is expressed by the connective degree, and the annual runoff classification is conducted. The method for determining the connection degree, the dimension of connection and the numbers of connection degree is put forward. The results show that the amount of runoff and its distribution has been fully considered by SPA, so the method is worth popularizing in the field of hydrological calculation. 
